Dr. Lin Hightower Bio

ASILA is very proud to work with one of the most talented designers: Dr. Lin Hightower. She is also a professor and a three times Fullbright Winner and her valuable work continues to bring impact to hundreds of artisans across the world.

Through the power of networks, Manal Elattir, founder of Asila was introduced to Lin through the Global Women Leadership Network and have been working since in:

• Sourcing the best quality raw material,

• Bringing innovative weaving techniques and methods in weaving & sawing,

• Including new designs and colors to traditional craft.

Her amazing approach to work with the women artisans and her excellent skills and expertise enabled to create beautiful handicrafts that preserve the Moroccan heritage but also answer the global market in both fashion and convenience. During her visits to Morocco, Lin has helped the women better understand hand woven textiles, sourcing material, new sewing methods and color trends.
